Submit your suggestion for a "Famous American" to hang on Mr. Flynn's wall

    Mr. Flynn hung pictures of 100 great Americans on his classroom walls.  Bets and her classmates had to discover the identities of each person and then write twenty words that told why that person was important.  Only a few of these people are named in Miss E.  so we're collecting suggestions on who the rest of the people on Mr. Flynn's wall could be.

    Here are some guidelines.:
    • All of the pictures on Mr. Flynn's walls are photographs, so your suggestion should be someone who lived after photography was available - mid 1800's.  (Sorry George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, and Benjamin Franklin)
    • Miss E. takes place in 1967, so your great American should have lived before that year.  (But if you have a really great suggestion for someone who lived after 1967, that's OK too!)
    • Although some of the people on Mr. Flynn's walls were really famous - like Abraham Lincoln and Albert Einstein - many of them were people his students had never heard of, even though they had done some pretty amazing things and were really great people.  You can suggest anyone you think is a great American.  They don't need to be someone in a history book.
