I am available for school visits to share passages from my books, discuss writing process, and work with students on their own writing. I can work with large groups of students or individual classrooms and will coordinate with school staff to align my presentation with skills and concepts students will be working with in class.
I taught middle school English for over ten years and I've worked in education for almost twenty years. I have discovered that being able to share my love of books and writing with students is truly the best part of writing a young adult book! I always enjoyed digging into books with my own students and discussing the characters and plot while also considered the authors intentions and techniques. For that reason, I absolutely love meeting with groups that have read my books. I am able to share my decisions behind the writing and answer any questions readers might have, I always walk away with new insights and perspectives on my own books. Depending on location, I can join book groups in person or via FaceTime or Skype.
